In February 2019, Myanmar’s largest communications tower company IRRAWADDY GREEN TOWER, referred to as IGT, directly contacted REO, and asked whether REO’s lock control system can meet the requirements of communication base station (BTS) key management, personnel management, workflow management and distribution The need for integrated asset management.
According to statistics from TowerXchange, a global telecommunications facility information company, IGT is the largest telecommunications tower company in Myanmar, occupying 35% of the Myanmar market. This is a multinational communications tower operating company, invested and operated by British, Dutch, and Canadian companies.

After a brief communication with the operations director of IGT, REO quickly provided a solution, which was recognized by the other party. Immediately, REO dispatched business and technical teams to Yangon, the headquarters of IGT, for business negotiation, technical docking, and on-site inspections of outdoor communication base stations. It was finally confirmed to adopt REO’s passive padlock lock control solution, and use REO’s evocloud cloud platform management software.

After providing the corresponding products, REO sent technicians to go to Myanmar again, and first conducted intensive training of relevant personnel. The training took place in Yangon and Mandalay. During the three-day training period, the two sides communicated effectively. Regarding the questions raised by the other party, REO’s technical staff answered in detail; the Myanmar staff quickly became familiar with REO’s products, systems and usage methods.

Myanmar is located in southeastern Asia, in the tropics, with a tropical monsoon climate. The season for REO technicians to travel to Myanmar is summer. The highest outdoor temperature in Myanmar is over 40 degrees Celsius, and the air humidity is so high that it is unbearable. Regardless of the sweltering heat and humidity, the technical staff of REO went to the first construction site together with the Myanmar staff to install and debug the equipment.

According to the contract, during the trial operation of the project, REO Company must provide on-site technical support for a period of 90 days. Since REO has not yet established an office in Myanmar, REO has sent a young technician, He Zhiyang, to Myanmar alone to provide technical services. In the end, Xiaohe lived up to the company’s high expectations, solved various problems for the other party in time, and completed the task brilliantly. The Myanmar side also paid all the money in accordance with the contract.

The Myanmar IGT project is the first overseas project directly undertaken by REO. The implementation of this project not only verified the applicability of REO products in hot and humid areas, but also trained REO’s young team, accumulated experience in overseas project implementation, and established a project management system.
